Project Life Cycle

This presentation represents only a summary treatment of Project Management, covering the key points that apply to most projects.

This outline of steps required to plan and implement a project follows the guidelines that we have used for years consulting with numerous companies. Strange as it may seem, many companies have not adopted a formal methodology, and those who have a methodology use terms like framework or life cycle. Even so, you can just about go down this list and translate the terminology with similar results. For example, you can replace Contractor with IS Department and Client with Business Unit which works pretty well for large businesses. The translation also is sufficient for internal development, but one person may take on multiple roles.

I always believe it's better to have 30 imaginations working on a project, rather than one imagination telling the other 29 what to do. ~ Trevor Nunn
